June Update

28th & 29th June 2025 Club Championships

Over what was an extremely hot weekend, we saw the Men’s and Ladies club Championships battled out over two days. It was great to see such a strong turn out in all divisions with Gold (46), Silver (41) and Bronze (14). It shows the strength of the membership handicaps across the board for the club.

In the Men’s championship it was tight going into day two, but there was no stopping last years winner Steve “The Beast” Northeast retaining his crown.

The Gold division was won by Steve Northeast from Nicolas Solomon by an impressive six shots.

The Silver division was won by Max Delahunty-James from Mark Oliveria by another impressive seven shots.

The Bronze division was won by Jack Christopher from Shivantha Thambirajah by five shots.

Thanks again to all those who played in the Club Championships over the last two days. It was great to see so many staying to the end of the day to see the Gold Division groups finishing on the 18th with some members having played early morning in the bronze Division.

Thanks also to the catering staff for all the great food they prepared over the weekend, the bar staff for working diligently in keeping us refreshed, Gavin and the Green keepers for preparing the course in such a great way, Charlie for providing the Cards and starter duties and not forgetting Tim for all his hard work in setting up the competition and working out results etc so promptly. A great weekend was had by all!

25th June 2025 Vets Captains Day

On another hot and sunny day, we had the Vets Captains Day mixed Team Wave Event. The event consisting of 12 teams of four players battling it out.

The event was hosted by our Vets Captain David Sansom who ensured we all had a great day.

2nd Keith Stinson, Penny Harrison, Tim Smith, Stephen, Harrison 89 Points (on  countback)
3rd Richard Oozerally, Raymond Cliff, Jane Jones, Graham Wood 89 Points (on countback)

David raised £845 on the day towards the Captains charities which is most appreciated.


23rd June 2025 Longest Day Golf Charity Event

On a thankfully slightly cooler day, both the Men’s and Lady Captain set out at 5:10am to complete in the Longest Day Charity event on behalf of both the Captains charities. The event taking on playing four rounds of golf on the day.

Thanks to all the support we received on the day, the Caddies who helped during round three (Penny Harrison and Catrin Roberts), Tim Smith and Caroline Mott who followed us in a buggy on round four and for those who came out to see us complete the final round. (Ian Larter, Eddie Larter, Ulrich Vosloo, Simon and Jane Jones).

The final donations figure is yet to be confirmed, but we have raised in excess of £2250.

Many thanks to all who donated. Both charities at the end of the year will be most appreciative.


22nd June 2025 Colin Wood Trophy

June was turning out to be a hot month and the Colin Wood Trophy was played in full sunshine. It was great to see Colin himself and Andy Mildenhall were out on the course handing out water in a buggy.

15th June 2025 Father’s Day Betterball (Mixed)

14th June 2025 Warren League v Tyrell’s Wood

The Warren league team were out again with a home match against Tyrell’s Wood. Despite two good wins, we unfortunately narrowly lost on the 18th in one match, with the overall result ending in a 2-2 draw. The next match will be away against Cuddington on 12th July.

1st June 2025 GOTY 3 Alf Perry Medal

In what was a very strong field of 78 players, it was great to see one of our oldest playing members winning the Alf Perry Medal.
