29th April 2025 Sunningdale Heath Fleming Foursomes
A massive well done to Steve & Jane Northeast – fantastic achievement winning the Fleming foursomes at Sunningdale Heath on the 29th April, winning 1up. In doing so winning the competition for a second year in a row. Can they make it three.
4th May – Men’s Ye Olde Wooden Putter
Huge congratulations to Jonathan Andrew on winning the Men’s Ye Olde Wooden Putter with a two round netting score of 141 (-1), Second place Jack Law 145 (+3) and third place Sean Thomson 146 (+4). Well done to everyone who competed over the two rounds. Congratulations also to Alex Rhodes for having the best gross score 153, Stephen Northeast second 155 on count back from Jack Law third 155 . The Men’s Ye Olde Wooden Putter being a qualifier for the Edwards Cup Scratch knock out. A draw for the top 16 gross scores will be sent out in the next couple of days.
5th May – Tom Cottrell Salver – Mixed Greensomes Medal
We had a good field of 12 pairs entering the Tom Cottrell Salver on the early May Bank Holiday Monday.
With a very impressive score, Ed and Jane van Egmond won with a nett 61, in second place the club Captains Camilla Mott and Keith Stinson with a nett 64 and in third place Ben Klinger and Kinga Nemes with a nett 68.
9th May - M4 League
Another great result for the Vets in the M4 Quarter Final match. The team beat Hadden Hill playing at Rickmansworth Golf Course. The 3-1 result means we’re through to the Semi Final stage and will also be included to play on the Finals day. Well done to the team!
10th May – LGOY 2 Spring Meeting Medal
Congratulations to Jane Northeast for winning the Silver division Spring Meeting with a gross score of 79, Jasmine Kim won the Silver nett with 71, Sue Wakerley won the Bronze gross with a score of 90 and Lorna Dolinska won the Bronze nett with a score of 68.
10th May – Warren League
The Warren league commenced for us with an Away match against Coulsdon Court. Unfortunately, we had a 3-1 loss. It's early doors in the league with several home matches to follow.
17th May - Ladies Coronation Foursomes
Well done to Kinga Nemes and Sue Wakerley for winning the Coronation Foursomes with an impressive score of 41. They will be playing the regional qualifier at Studley Wood later in the year.
17th May – Surrey 5’s A Team
Sadly we have to report that our Surrey Fives team lost 3-2 away to Thames Ditton. Everyone played well. The report was it was just the course beat us rather than the players.

18th May – Warren League
A week after starting the Warren league we had a home match against Coombe Wood. We reversed the match result from the previous week with a 3-1 home win.
21st May – Ladies Thomson Cup 4BBB
A strong performance from Penny Harrison and Jenny Tracey, scoring 43 points, to win the Ladies Thomson Cup from Sue Wakerley and Sue Choularton in second place with 41.
18th May – Surrey 5’s B Team
Unfortunately Surrey Fives “B” team lost 2-3 to Foxhills B.

24th May – Hole in One Alert!
The ladies were playing a Centenary Bowl match at home when, on the 12th hole, Lady Captain, Camilla Mott, aced her tee shot to record her second ever hole in one!
24th May – GOTY 2 Pachesham Cup Stableford
The Pachesham Cup counting towards the Golfer Of The Year had a very good field of 77 members entering the competition. A very good score of 43 points was recorded by James Murtagh, but unfortunately not enough cards had been submitted in order to win the Trophy, albeit he won the competition on the day.
The top four qualifying players for the Pachesham Cup were only separated on countback.
The Pachesham Cup was won by Rob Cooney with 39 points, beating Glenn Sturgess into second place, third place was Nick Taylor and in fourth place was Tony Leslie.

25th May – Warren League
For a third weekend in a row the Warren league team were out again with a home match against Effingham. Effingham had been unbeaten, however we secured a 4-0 home win. Next match on 14th June against Tyrell’s Wood.
26th May – George Simon Trophy MBC Mixed Aggregate Stableford
We had a similar good field of 12 pairs entering the George Simon Trophy on the Spring May Bank Holiday Monday as the previous bank holiday.
However, this time we had a new mixed pair winning the competition. The winners were Simon and Jane Jones with an aggregate stableford score of 78 points, beating Ed and Jane van Egmond into second place on countback and the clubs Captains Keith Stinson and Camilla Mott in third place with 72 points.
31st May – Gertrude Beer Trophy (36 hole Stableford)
The only 36 hole competition the ladies play in one day, it was very close at the top with Sue Choularton and Kinga Nemes both coming in with a score of 72 points. An impressive second round score of 38 secured the win for Sue.
Don’t forget the Club Captains Keith Stinson and Camilla Mott plan to take on the challenge of the longest day of golf in order to raise some money for the charities. It would be great to see some of you on the day to cheer us on, play one round (can be or more or less) with us or even to caddy for us.
