October Update

25th October 2025 AGM and Final Presentations of my Captaincy.

The final Knock Out presentations were made prior to the AGM with all barring two winners being present on the day and photos taken.

My tenure as the Men’s Captain has drawn to a close at the AGM this afternoon. For those who were not there, my speech will be in the AGM minutes. However, I would like to thank all the members for their support throughout my Captaincy and the considerable money donated to both the Captain’s charities of approximately £12,000 for Crossroads Care Surrey and 4Louis. My best wishes go out to our incoming Captain’s Ulrich Vosloo and Cathrin Roberts plus their vice Captain’s Simon and Jane Jones. I know you will also wish them all the best.

Your outgoing Captain. Keith Stinson

Golfer Of The Year Awards

Congratulations to both for accumulating the points and winning the overall GOTY and LGOY competitions throughout the season.

25th October 2025 Trophy Winners Trophy Mixed Stableford Q

A great turn out of 84 members entered the Trophy Winners Trophy Mixed Stableford competition. All eligible Trophy Winners battling it out over 18 holes for the best Stableford score.

The winner was Jonathan Andrew playing of (7) with 41 Points, from Alex Rhodes in second place with 38 points playing of (1), with Tim Smith in 3rd place on countback with 37 points playing of (17). The top three all being Trophy Winners during the season.

It would appear that whoever wins Ye Old Wooden Putter is in with a good chance of winning the Trophy winners Trophy, with this years winner having won it and I myself having won the same last year and also the Trophy Winners Trophy 2024.

Congratulations to all who played and made it a full shotgun start for my final main competition of the year just ahead of the AGM.

15th October 2025 The Vets & Super Vets Championships

In its inaugural year, we had an impressive field of 56 Vets play in the new Vets (55 to 65) & Super Vets (65 +) Championships. The autumn temperature had certainly dropped with the fire being lit in the Clubhouse before the Vets headed out to the Yellow Tees for the Vets Championships.

Congratulations to our two new Champions Ed van Egmond (Vets champion) and Neale Higgs (Super Vets Champion).

Congratulations also to our two nett winners David Sansom (Vets) and Martin Durham (Super Vets). Thanks to all who took part.

It was good to see so many still in the Clubhouse as the final groups completed their rounds and saw the Vets Champion come in towards the end of the field.

12th October 2025 The Letherhed Cup

The annual Letherhed Cup was played for Past Captains and committee against the members. We had 12 teams on each side with the past Captains and Committee lead by the Men’s Captain and the Members side lead by our incoming Vice Captain Simon Jones. It was a wonder day including the weather with both teams battling hard. It was a very close competition with the Past Captains and committee winning and retaining the cup 6.5 to 5.5. All coming down to the last pair.

Thanks to all who played and stayed to watch the final pair finish on the 18th green. Better luck next year to the Members Team.
