27th September 2025 Ryder Cup Team Pairs Matchplay Event
A big thank you to everyone who played in the Ryder Cup event. The Leatherhead Captains taking on Michael and Charlie which was a close run match, but sadly as the Captains of Europe we lost 2&1. It was a great success, with Team USA taking the win and we hope everyone enjoyed the day.
It was great that the club organised the event with the outside large screen and some members still being at the Club gone 10:30pm on Saturday evening. Thankfully over the weekend, it was great to see the European Ryder Cup Team hold on and retain the Ryder Cup.

14th September 2025 Presidents Day Mixed Stableford (MBC)
An impressive field of 86 entered the Presidents Day Mixed Stableford (MBC). The President Ken Bridgeman and Colin Grassing were touring the course on a buggy and providing refreshments to all who played during the day.
It was good to see so many members support Ken and stay for the lunch afterwards before the results were announced.
The competition on the day was won by Joe Bonnici (21) with 41points, second place was Robert Cooke (4) on 40 points and in third place was Stephen Conlon (13) with 39 points on countback from Arne Decaestecker (20).
However, unfortunately Joe was 10 days short of the three month joining period to be able to qualify for the Main Board and Trophy, although he won the overall winners prize on the day. Hopefully Joe will get his chance to win a Main Board Competition in the future.
The Presidents Day Trophy being won by Rob Cooke.
7th & 8th September 2025 Men’s Captain’s Away Day(s)
A Leatherhead contingent of 34 members and two past members headed to Dale Hill Golf Club for two days of Stableford competitions. We were blessed with sunny weather on both days and were able to make the most of the bar balcony watching everyone complete the second round.
A massive thank you to all those that took part and supported myself and the Captain’s Charities over the two days. We raised a further £1056 for the Crossroads Care Surrey and 4Louis.
The winner on day one on the Woosnam Course was John Davidson with 37 points on countback from Guy Williams and Keith Tollick third with 36 points.
The winner on day two on the Dale Hill old Course was Guy Williams with 39 points having played well on both days. Second was Dave Arrow on 38 points and Eddie Larter third with 35 points.
The overall winner for the two days was Guy Williams who played solid golf on both days.
The weather made it a wonderful couple of day’s and I believe everyone enjoyed themselves.
My thanks again to everyone for all the support, especially Ulrich Vosloo and Tim Smith and for making my Captains Away days one to truly remember
Keith Stinson, Men’s Club Captain
6th September 2025 GOTY 7 / MBC Ron Probert Trophy Medal
A good field of 65 entered the Ron Probert Trophy for the 7th golfer of the year competition. On what was a glorious sunny day at the start of September, I was fortunate to play with the winner on the day who shot a stunning 10 under his handicap. Let’s say he isn’t playing of 15 now.
It was great to watch Chris’s round whilst mine fell apart on the 11th with a 9!
