Vets maintain unbeaten run!

The vets M4 league team drew with Mill Ride 2-2 this week to maintain their unbeaten run in the league. Unfortunately next week’s match away at Sutton Green has been postponed till February due to the state of the course at Sutton Green.

Fifth Green

New drainage work has been carried out on the fifth green this week, with a temporary green in place.

Defeat for ladies

The ladies team were beaten 4-3 at Walton Heath in their Pearson Trophy match on Thursday. The next match is away at Bramley on Wednesday.

Vets continue winning ways!

The Vets continue with winning ways in the M4 league with a great AWAY win at Milford 2.5 – 1.5 in a true test of Winter golf.

Captains' Drive-In and Texas Scramble

Steve and Sue would like to thank all the members who supported them for their Captains' Drive-In and Texas Scramble.

There were 23 teams taking part in the Texas Scramble, with the winning team of Connor Northeast, David Arrow, Jack Law and Mark Baron scoring an impressive 53. They just pipped Camilla Mott, Penny Harrison, David Palmer and Sean Thomson, on countback,

Third place, which was also on countback, went to a three-ball team of Nigel McGee, Oliver Wilson and Shaun Sholtz. They scored 56.

Following the golf came the Captains' Drive-In. The distance of Steve's drive, which may or may not have hit an oak tree on the way, was correctly guessed at 228 yards by Jamie Williams. Sue's drive sadly didn't reach any oak trees, but John Davidson gave the closest guess to her 84 yards!

The funds raised for the two charities - the Fire Fighters charity and the Kidney Fund - represented a good start to Steve and Sue's year.

Roy Lambdin Trophy

A great day was had by the 32 golfers who played in the sunshine in the Roy Lambdin Texas scramble trophy. There were some great scores by all the teams. The trophy was won by Sylvia Kempsell, Ann Whittaker, Ravi Shanker and Mervyn Wynyard with a very impressive Gross 70 Nett 53!

Thanks to all who attended and managing to raise over £150 to go to the Royal Marsden Hospital in memory of Roy.

Ladies beat Dulwich & Sydenham

The ladies completed their home Pearson Trophy league matches with a 6-1 victory over Dulwich & Sydenham in the rain today. The next match is away on the Old Course at Walton Heath on Thursday 17 November.

New date for Captains' Texas Scramble

Following a morning of heavy rain on Sunday, the Captains' Texas Scramble and Drive-In has been moved to Sunday November 13th. The existing tee-times have been moved across, so it's still a shotgun start at 9am followed by the Captains' Drive-In and a curry.

There are still spaces for those who might now be able to play. The post-golf chicken/veggie curry will cost £10 off your card. Please make sure you opt-out if you can't stay for the meal, or else you will be charged. If you have any problems signing up to play, please contact the pro shop.

The Vets began their campaign for the M4 winter league with an emphatic home win against Milford 3½ - ½. Well done to the whole team. Next match is away at Milford on Thursday 10^th November.
